Turn on the dark

Chipping Sodbury 2009

We stayed in a house converted from a pig sty and farm yard garage. It was a nice place with its own garden and driveway. It was self catering and Chipping Sodbury is in South Gloucestershire next to Yate. Our first time down in the south west as a family.

Farm house view.

We went down to Longleat, unfortunately the monkey section was closed, and we also went across to Slimbridge. They had half a dozen different types of flamingo. And just before we left we walked across the old Severn bridge; I walked all the way across as a child when it first opened. The Cotswolds are a nice part of the country and I like the green valleys, and the hills.

Longleat is not quite what you expect because things on television always look better than in reality. The animals were as you would expect but a a bit damp thanks to the rain. The house is majestic and the grounds filling with more and more other attractions. Claire and I enjoyed the big maze. The Rain Forest simulator was also impressive but a short ride.

We plan to come back some day.
