Turn on the dark

Mum

Mum.
 1942-2008

We all have our fond memories. Mine are many and varied. I remember her frequent happiness at seeing her grand kids enjoying themselves. The triumph at another completed quilt well received. And out in the world taking in the many joys of the natural world. And mainly laughing at some thing; be it the sudden wave knocking her over paddling in the sea or amusement at the things one of us had said, or indeed she had uttered. I also remember being woken by the noise, and shortly afterwards entrance, of the hoover on my bedroom door on Saturday mornings; teenagers have never been keen on getting up. To the end she was always trying to live life to full no matter what obstacles fate put in her way. Miss you mum.

Thoughts from Claire

So your time has come
you've passed away.
but oh, how we will miss
cooking on a Sunday.

With a step of your foot
and a puff of your breath
there's another mountain to be climbed.

There's not much to say
now that you've passed away.

We will all miss you dearly
your smile in our hearts
we'll stand strong together
and hold our heads high.
